I am looking very forward to this. Happy Valentines Day!
There are times when we struggle with finding meaning from our jobs. I found this amazing blog the other morning that really helped me process what I have been feeling.
Check out our website to see these gorgeous leather handbags. Lots of love and craftsmanship goes into each and every one of them! Happy Holidays!
Tomorrow will be the fourth year that I will celebrate Thanksgiving with a family other than mine. I thought that the first time would be sad or scary, because I was in New York, but it was actually one of my favorites because I spent it with my best friend Anna Adams and her husband Sam.
We were all really new to the city, so we decided to go to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. My sister and I would watch it on TV every year, so getting to see it in person was great. There must have been thousands of people. Crowds for days! Even though it was exciting to see Kermit the frog and Big Bird, once was enough for me.
Once we made it through the crowds back to the train, we grabbed a slice of pizza. We had been up since about 7:00 that morning and were starving. A few hours later, it was time for the actual dinner. Anna and Sam cooked some fantastic food, including a to die for, made from scratch apple pie. Best pie ever Anna!
The highlight of the day was taking a walk down to the river at sunset. The weather was just a little chilly, shades of orange and pink danced on the water and the streets were empty (which was a nice change from earlier in the day). It made me realize how blessed I was to have Sam and Anna in my life.
Sometimes we think that Holidays aren’t the same because we aren’t at home. But if we surround ourselves with happiness, it doesn’t matter if we are home in Alabama or in a small apartment in New York.
in an attempt to experience all this wonderful city has to offer, brooke, valerie and i went to the nashville flea market this past saturday. it takes place on the third weekend of every month, and boy oh boy were there many things to choose from.
are you in the market for a giant wooden key? it was at the flea market. how about a jumbo pack of socks? it was there too.
even though there were lots of things that one should never buy/need, there were a lot of cool things too.
the highlight of our trip had to be the older man who wrote brooke and i a song on his keyboard. i don’t quite remember the lyrics, but he said that we ran around in a guy’s mind and haunted their dreams. sounds about right! he then told us that he used to be the bandleader for dinah shore. you never know who you will meet here in nashville.
above are some pictures of a couple of victorian capes we found as well as a carousel pony, minus the carousel.
i love alberta feretti’s spring 2013 line. equal parts mermaid and minimalist, i love everything about it!
