i have to confess that i am sort of obsessed with lana del rey. i discovered her late last year and haven’t been able to stop listening to her. i don’t really care that changed her name, may have had plastic surgery and did a not so awesome job on saturday night live. i love her sound and sense of style.
not only is this song inspiring, but it reminds me of driving through atlanta when i was little.
sunday kind of love: beauty edition
today i am loving: lincoln park after dark opi nail polish, jungle red nars lipstick and heidi braids.
bianca jagger is one of my fashion icons. not only was she naturally beautiful, she made us question what fashion was. when she married mick jagger in 1971, she wore a white tuxedo jacket, no shirt and a long white skirt.
i’ve gone to look for america

our lives are made up of defining moments. today while i was taking the ferry back to manhattan from new jersey, i experienced one of these moments. it was chilly and rainy for most of the day, but at sunset the skies cleared and a nice breeze bounced off of the hudson. the bright red letters from the new yorker building lit the light gray sky.
simon and garfunkel’s ‘america’ played on my ipod. while i was looking out onto the new york skyline, paul simon sang, ‘i’ve gone to look for america’ and i knew that i was exactly where i was supposed to be.
one of the reasons i moved away from everything i have ever known was to chase my dreams and look for something new. now that i have been in new york for a while, i know that each day i get one step closer to finding my america.
bullett magazine spring 2012
i love a good romper! i wear them all year long like it is nobody’s business.
yesterday ting and i had sushi in the neighborhood. the weather was beautiful, but a little chilly, so i decided to wear pants. if you know me, you know that i hate pants, but occasionally will wear them (like three times a year). these jeans were super high-waisted and comfy, so they don’t really count as pants. i love mixing different prints that you wouldn’t think go together. the great thing about fashion is that you make your own rules.
vintage leopard coat and sunglasses, vintage plaid button down, vintage jewelry, urban outfitters jeans, top shop suede platforms.
i will try and post more pictures of my outfits this week.
the dolce and gabbana fall 2012 show was breathtaking! they have the ability to give us something innovative each and every season. velvet capes with gold trims, tapestry-inspired silhouettes and lace bodices floated down the runway, all with the baroque influence. i chose a few of my favorite looks, but you really need to see the whole show to get the whole feel for it. i promise that you will not be disappointed.
